Bug Description

I'm using Ubuntu 13.10
Latest Hplip installed.
Printers is supported Photosmart Premium C310

When I try to print an A4 document with no scaling the whole pages seems to be printed too high on the page and casues the top 10mm not to be printed.

The only way I can print out is to select borderless printing.

This is also odd as when I try to print a photo selecting borderless 4x6 photo paper from the photo tray, it will always print a margin down the short edge.
The following is the output from hp-check.

[code]ian@ian-OEM:~$ hp-check

HPLIP supplied tarball (.tar.gz or .run) to determine if the proper dependencies
are installed to successfully compile HPLIP.
2. Run-time check mode (-r or --run): Use this mode to determine if a distro
supplied package (.deb, .rpm, etc) or an already built HPLIP supplied tarball
has the proper dependencies installed to successfully run.
3. Both compile- and run-time check mode (-b or --both) (Default): This mode
will check both of the above cases (both compile- and run-time dependencies).

Check types:
a. EXTERNALDEP - External Dependencies
b. GENERALDEP - General Dependencies (required both at compile and run time)
c. COMPILEDEP - Compile time Dependencies
d. [All are run-time checks]

I remember doing it, but now when I try again, I can't make the borderlesss feature work. I set my document to borderless with both LibreOffice and the printer setting in Ubuntu 12.04 LTS .

Ideas why I can't make my MFC-J625DW print Bprderless A4?

OK found it. LibreOffice has a bug. When you choose "A4 borderless" and click "OK", it's not saving your choice for some reason. Used a converted version of my document as a PDF. 'Document Viewer' is working great with borderless.

(If you're reading it and still failing with your printer, maybe it's not supprting borderless. You should check it. Read about your model)

Having a HP Deskjet 3520, connected to an Ubuntu 14.04 laptop with HPLIP 3.14.3, I can confirm two "bugs" :

* Without selecting "A4 Borderless" things don't go as expected. This is especially annoying when printing PDFs (such as tickets bought online or important documents for needng paper archival), because it does not produce the result one can expect. This bug is rather critical, I shredded many "invalid" printed page and things may become worse when not noticing that a part is missing.
* There is the bug in connection to openoffice too (and not only for paper size but also "randomly" for color/greyscale). I can cope with it by PDF conversion, but it's annoying for the credibility of Ubuntu+HPLIP.

For the "A4 Borderless" issue, I'm sure I never encountered the issue when using an outdated 9.10 computer, with HPLIP 3.13.11 and the same printer. (I didn't remember everything about the install but on the "working old computer", I downloaded and compiled HPLIP)

Hi David,

You have to enable "scale to fit" option in printer properties to avoid clipping for bug one.
The second bug is with respect to openoffice and hplip does not have control on application settings. Try using updated version of libreoffice.

Goutam
