Trying to install mozilla firefox not from Ubuntu repo

Binary package hint: firefox

I'm trying to install mozilla. The command "./mozilla-installer " gave me "./mozilla-installer-bin: error while loading shared libraries: libgtk-1.2.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory"

Ubuntu doesn't support software which wasn't installed from the Ubuntu archive.

Nonetheless, try installing libgtk1.2.

This requires libgtk1.2-dev.

However, this is being installed outside the ubuntu repositories, so it is not a bug - you need to install everything required before you run an installer. Even if it were, we could not fix it, for obvious reasons.

Try:

$ sudo apt-get install firefox

It's easiest to install...
