Program Titles Don't Disappear

The program Titles that pop up when you mouse over a program do not disappear.

In the forum they say it's related to 'GeForce 8800GTS' and the nvidia drivers, but is that the only case? I mean: is somebody else experiencing this problem with another chipset?

I am having this problem as well. I am runny Ubuntu Feisty with Compiz and an NVidia 8600 graphics card. Let me know if more information is needed.

I am using GeForce 8800 GTS with Envy. The Installed NVIDIA Driver Version is 100.14.12. I'm using Ubuntu Feisty with Compiz. I don't know if this might be related or not but I can't access avant preferences too. If you need me let me know i'm willing to help to get this fixed as soon as possible.

Pretty much the same problem as the above poster. I have an 8800GTS with driver version 100.14.11. Ubuntu Feisty with Compiz. I can get to the preferences screen. I'm also willing to help try and solve this, so if you need a tester, email me.

Same problem: GeForce 8500GT, nvidia driver 100.14.11 on Ubuntu Feisty with Compiz Fusion. Program titles don't disappear, everything else works fine though. The current 'fix' is to set program titles transparent.

I have now also a GeForce 8600 GTS and have the same problem. That way I was able to test some things and I think with this patch the problems should be solved, but didn't tested it to much...

After some testing the titles disappeared sometimes. Now with this new patch that doesn't occur. I even think it's working like a charm.

It looks like there is still a problem with the patch. If the bar isn't active (if another program is active) then the titles are not always displayed ...

thanks. I tried your patch (in fact tried something similar on my own before) and another problem I found is that you see an occasional flicker above the bar (some window border?). Moreover, if you have separator between launchers and tasks you can see it moving slightly when hovering over the launchers. Finally, and I think that is he biggest problem, I noticed that it increases cpu usage a lot. I think this is because titles are re-rendered every time now ...

Just did a huge update to awn, in which I rewrote the entire 'awn-title' object, and simplified it immensity!

I need someone to test whether or not this update fixes this problem (I an 99% sure it does :-)). Please can you add a comment here with your experience with the new code, thanks!

After this update bzr 50/51 launchers no longer bounce, though window titles work fine (intel graphics) (now with animation)!
Right click > preferences does nothing now too.

Both bounce and preferences worked after bzr 49!

Just to add I never had problems with titles not disappearing, but I often had problems with titles not showing up at all. This seems to be fixed!

My Program titles seem to mesh to the bottom border of my window previews...Should there be some space between them?

With the latest modifications, bzr53 is causing sticking titles for me...(running compiz fusion 0.5.2).
I don't think I had them with 52...
It happens if my mouse happens to sweep through all the icons on my dock. The only way to get the titles to disappear is to hover back over the icon.

Bzr53 is causing sticking titles for me too. It only happens when I move my mouse too quickly off the bar. I think it's a new bug; I don't remember this happening before. I'm not having the position issue Haisen is having though. I'm running Compiz Fusion 0.5.3 if it helps.

I can also confirm the new sticking titles issue in bzr53. I'm using a ATI graphics card with its proprietary drivers and never had the old issue at all. Like above, it seems to only happen when doing a quick mouse over. This is sometimes paired with the title being placed in the wrong position.

Same as sefs, same sticking titles with this update. I hadn't them before this update. Also, titles are sometimes corrupted! I'm running in Ubuntu Feisty with a Macbook and an Intel graphic card.

Looks like the video card doesn't matter anymore. It is a bug that just happens, since I had it with an intel, dincer had it with an ati and marco had with an nvidia, well, it looks obvious now, right? So the bug is video-card indipendent... maybe the devels already realized it :( ?
