Bug Description

The plugin does not work, and when I try to install the plugin, there are unmet dependencies. Installing ubuntu-restricted-extras does not fix this.

Same issue in Firefox. Also, when you right click a flash window and bring up the settings prompt, it freezes and becomes unclickable.
Pepper-flash works with chromium.

Adding the following to your /etc/apt/sources.list file:

 deb http://archive.canonical.com/ubuntu/ trusty partner

And running:

 sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install adobe-flashplugin

Should pull a plugin that works under Firefox.

Much has changed regarding the Flash plugin and its support by Adobe and Canonical since this bug was reported. Things are better and simpler. This bug is unlikely to still be occurring, and if it were it certainly wouldn't warrant a Critical status.

The Flash plugin can be installed and kept up-to-date via the flashplugin-installer package in the multiverse repository (NPAPI version) or via the adobe-flashplugin package in Canonical's partner repository (NPAPI and PPAPI versions, recommended). It is currently version 25.0.

I've set this old bug to expire. Please report problems here, or in another bug report, whichever is more appropriate.
