hi!
just ran the update to KDE-SC 4.12.2 (ppa-backports)
APT informed that KDM & kubuntu-desktop would be going to be removed, so thy were.
Seems some dependencies are not resolved accordingly as a reinstall before logout gets refused?
I've upgraded 12.04 with the LTS-HWE-Stack 12.04.4. recently
This the refuse-install comment:

As a temporary solution lightdm + lightdm-kde-greeter were installed, to have a Login-screen.
