This crash occured while trying to watch a x264 .mkv file. The file plays fine on its own, but the crash actually occurs when trying to seek to another section of the movie.

Just reporting I have the exact problem. Doesn't seem to happen every time, but occasinally.

I also have the same problem.
VLC crashes when seeking in mkv files.

I'm seeing the same problem.

seems to be a bug in libebml

can someone please check if this still happens in ubuntu 8.10?

if yes, please do attach a testfile.
