Bug Description

I ran the update command on a bound branch that was out of date. I was asked for the password 4 times before the update completed. The same happened whether I was bound to a branch using bzr+ssh or sftp protocol. I should only be asked for the password once.

I am using the latest bzr.dev:

Bazaar (bzr) 0.19.0dev0
  Python interpreter: /usr/bin/python 2.5.1.final.0
  Python standard library: /usr/lib/python2.5
  bzrlib: /usr/lib/python2.5/site-packages/bzrlib

Is that a regression from 0.18 ?

Yes it is of course, it's due to the sftp cache suppression. Hmm. I will not be able to fix that until end of August, simply reinstalling the sftp cache may be the easiest workaround then, if somebody want to do that, just assigned the bug to yourself.

Nicholas, can you confirm that this used to work for sftp ?

Did you tried it with bzr+ssh before ?

I found one case where we connect to the master branch a second time when we don't need to.
I have a patch that removes 1 connection, but that doesn't mean it will remove all 4 connection attempts.
