Bug Description

Binary package hint: orca

In Gutsy Tribe 3 live CD, when I start Orca from the menu, I get the following message in a console:

***MEMORY-WARNING***: orca[9484]: GSlice: g_thread_init() must be called before all other GLib functions; memory corruption due to late invocation of g_thread_init() has been detected; this program is likely to crash, leak or unexpectedly abort soon...

Then it prints some languages to configure it, and finally remains unresponsive.

I tried to do a gdb backtrace, but it failed with the following message:

"/usr/bin/orca": not in executable format: File format not recognized

Please, tell me how can I give more details on this bug :(

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. However, your crash report is either missing or challenging to deal with as a ".crash" file. Please follow these instuctions to have apport report a new bug about your crash that can be dealt with by the automatic retracer.

If you are using Ubuntu with the Gnome desktop environment - launch nautilus and navigate to your /var/crash directory and double click on the crash report you wish to submit.

I'm closing this bug report since the process outlined above will automatically open a new bug report which can then dealt with more efficiently. Thanks in advance for your cooperation and understanding.

Changed in gnome-orca:
status: New → Invalid
