I tried in Mac currently, but there I got the same error.

It will be great if you can provide any way through which I can
successfully import .emf file and export to .svg.

@Bharat: as requested previously, could you provide info on OS/platform and Inkscape version (see Inkscape menu 'Help > About Inkscape').
You will need to upgrade to a more recent version of Inkscape, but it would be helpful to know what you are currently running.

Hi,

I am using the following:

Windows 7, Inkscape version: 0.48.4
Mac OS, Inkscape version: 0.48.2

Let me know if you need any other information.

Thanks,
Bharat

on Windows, you could get a more recent development version from:
https://skydrive.live.com/?cid=09706d11303fa52a&id=9706D11303FA52A%21217
or:
http://www.oss-marketplace.com/index.php/downloads-mainmenu-63/Inkscape/Entwicklerversionen/
depending on which version you download, you may need to also get 7-zip to unzip the files.

I took the latest version.

Atleast I am able to import the emf file, which is nice. So thanks for that,

But the problem is that the conversion is not perfect. I am not able to
convert to .svg file perfectly.

For sample I have attaced the emf file and the converted svg file.

It will be great if you can help me in this. Your cooperation will be
highly appreciated.

Thanks & Regards,
Bharat

- confirmed on Windows XP, Inkscape rev 13031
- test was done using the file 179 Limit Worksheet.emf
- the main deficiency appears to be missing lines on the form. As far as I can tell the lines are actually missing, not just hidden behind some other object as can sometimes happen.

summary: - Not able to load the emf file
+ loaded emf file has missing lines

Compared to how the EMF file renders in LibreOffice (PDF export from LibreOffice attached), the issue in Inkscape trunk seems to be incorrect layout (vertical position) of parts of the text (rendered on top of other text, not actually missing).

Just wanted to know if there is any update for the above.

As per the last e-mail, I was having few issues in conversion of emf to svg
(mostly problems related to the lines.)

It will be great if you can help me further on that.
