Bug Description

I do not know the reason for keeping a day marked in the calendar (unity-panel-service) as it is confusing. I must have selected the yesterday's day and now I see it selected in the calendar. Sometimes I see even an older day. It should flush it. See the screenshot.

Yes, it is reproducible.

Click on the clock. Calendar opens. Click on a day, it will change background color. Do your stuff on the computer. Tomorrow do the same, you will see the day you previously selected still selected.

I do not get it why my selection would be active once I went out of that calendar. If I would not see the first line showing the current day, I might even think that one is the current day. I would flush any click/action done over there when I go out of that calendar.

This is how my calendar shows today. As you can see, I still have the 14th selected, it is 2 days old.

PS: I might not have restarted my computer since my click on time->calendar but it does not matter, I still do not get why that date remained selected.

This happens to me every time a day passes, for instance: if I turn my computer on today then tomorrow the selected day will be todays, and so forth.
As an example the attached screenshot is from today.

To reproduce (the short way...):
1) disable NTP
2) set the hour to 11:59PM
3) wait a minute

affects: unity (Ubuntu) → indicator-datetime (Ubuntu)
