Bug Description

do-release-upgrade -d to get to Ubuntu 14.04; loving 14.04 for some weeks. Routine 'apt-get update && apt-get -y dist-upgrade && if [ -e /var/run/reboot-required ]; then echo "REBOOT required"; else echo "Not required to reboot at `date`."; fi' gets x11 blank screen after reboot.

Tried:
  pushd /etc/X11
  cp xorg.conf.failsafe xorg.conf
  reboot
No help.
