Bug Description

Please remove the code that uses tracking services such as google, facebook etc... from:

usr/lib/openteacher/openteacher/modules/org/openteacher/websiteGenerator/docsTemplates/install-ubuntu.html
usr/lib/openteacher/openteacher/modules/org/openteacher/websiteGenerator/docsTemplates/using-openteacher-2.html
usr/lib/openteacher/openteacher/modules/org/openteacher/websiteGenerator/templates/base.html
usr/lib/openteacher/openteacher/modules/org/openteacher/websiteGenerator/templates/download.html
usr/lib/openteacher/openteacher/modules/org/openteacher/websiteGenerator/templates/index.html

this is a serious violation of Debian/Ubuntu policy and makes the package unfit for inclusion. I have patched these files to remove the offending code. It would be nice for the upstream tarball did not include this code.

Best Regards,

Charlie Smotherman

The whole websiteGenerator directory is now removed in our source tarball generation process, along with some other modules only useful for developers of OpenTeacher. This has the added advantage that the tarball gets quite a bit smaller. For newer releases, this will be the case. For the current release, we can't change it anymore so I'd suggest just making a patch to the release which removes the entire directory as part of the debian packaging process.

Oh, the tarball in the last comment is an example of the new tarball, generated from the latest trunk.

Changed in openteacher:

status: New → Fix Released
assignee: nobody → Marten de Vries (marten-de-vries)
