Bug Description

Binary package hint: acpi

I installed Feisty in my Lenovo X60 laptop.
When I tried to change the LCD brightness using "Fn+Home" and "Fn+End", the X shut down the screen and I had no way to recover it.
It seemed that it was caused by the acpi module. Can Ubuntu to solve it or include the ibm-acpi(thinkpad-acpi) to the kernel?
Please refer the following links. Thanks.

I see the same problem with a default boot of Gutsy on my X60s, which has kernel 2.6.22, and loads the video module but not the thinkpad-acpi module. However, if I do "modprobe -r video" (to get rid of the ACPI video driver) and "modprobe thinkpad-acpi" (to load the thinkpad-acpi module), then Fn+Home and Fn+End don't do anything at all.

FWIW, loading thinkpad-acpi gives this in the kernel log:

[ 2327.624000] thinkpad_acpi: ThinkPad ACPI Extras v0.14
[ 2327.624000] thinkpad_acpi: http://ibm-acpi.sf.net/
[ 2327.624000] thinkpad_acpi: ThinkPad EC firmware 7BHT40WW-1.13

dmidecode shows the BIOS version as "7BETD0WW (2.11 )"
