[feisty] dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg: failure because of missing package xresprobe

Bug Description

Hardware detection with the command line "sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg" fails, because the package xresprobe is not installed in the standard installation. After I installed xresprobe from the Ubuntu repositories, the hardware detection (ddcprobe) worked fine again with the command line sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg.

Please put xresprobe back in the standard installation; it's essential.

Greetz, Pjotr.

It appears that this problem only happens when the installation is done with the LiveCD. Installation with the Alternate CD does install xresprobe automatically.

However, since most installations are being done with the LiveCD, this is a serious matter.
