Bug Description

I Installed today's updates on virtualbox. Then restarted the system. Upon restart, an XOrg error was shown so I chose to report it and then apport showed this error

This bug happened after I did the most recent set of updates. Turned computer back on and had a login screen where I never had the login screen before. Only the login wouldn't log me in even after correct password was typed. I used Ctrl + Alt + F1 to go to terminal, installed gdm, made it the default, rebooted and was able to enter the o/s after logging in again. The error report showed the same byte size notice.

The answer page I used when I reserched this suggested a fault in the user wallpaper. I have changed back to an Ubuntu and am about to try reverting to lightgdm.

This release of Ubuntu is no longer receiving maintenance updates. If this is still an issue on a maintained version of Ubuntu please let us know.
