Bug Description

Can't ever use this program or the linux -image associated programs. Keep getting dependency problems. Managed to delete all these associated files and re-installed. Been using ubuntu syystem management, Symantics, and attitude. All to no avail. I am not versed in linux, but used to be a programmer 30 years ago using Assembly Language - one up from 0 and 1's. So, I am pretty adept. Can't beat this one yet. End result is installing a driver for Broadcom STA wireless driver for bcm4318 which is supported by umbuntu as a working driver. Using Unbuntu 12.04 as 13.10 installations on this older Dell never work.

cat /proc/version_signature > version.log did nothing....just gave me back the command line.

sudo lspci -vnvn > lspci-vnvn.log gave me nothing either.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Reviewing your dmesg attachment in this bug report it seems that there is a problem with your hardware. I recommend performing a back up and then investigating the situation. Measures you might take include checking cable connections and using software tools to investigate the health of your hardware. In the event that is is not in fact an error with your hardware please set the bug's status back to New. Thanks and good luck!
