wireshark broken trying to capture

Bug Description

Trying to capture traffic in the Wireshark GUI results in the app hanging with the following error being continuously output to the console where the app was started from:

This still appears broken in 14.10 - anything I can do to help debug?

if you run "LIBOVERLAY_SCROLLBAR=0 wireshark" does that fix it?

If so, this is a duplicate of #1248400.
