Can't drag url so that it opens a new tab

Binary package hint: firefox

Steps to reproduce:

1) mark the following url: http://www.ubuntu.com/
(including the whitespace at the end!)

2) drag and drop it in the 'tabbar'

-> no new tab opens because of the whitespace at the end of the url. without any whitespace after the last character of the url it works as expected.

sorry, somehow it seems that the whitespace was stripped in the example i gave above.
i try it again: www.ubuntu.com

it sometimes seems to work. www.ubuntu.com l think this example now should show the problem ...

ok ... in the example above the problem shows if one marks www.ubuntu.com with one whitespace after the m.
with leading whitespace there isn't a problem.

Is anyone still experiencing this with Firefox version 3 or above? I cannot confirm this with Firefox 3.6 on Jaunty. Please let us know which version of Ubuntu and which version of Firefox. Thanks.
