Bug Description

Binary package hint: ipodslave

When I connect my ipod nano to my laptop computer and type "ipod:/" into the konqueror address bar, I get the following error message: "Could not access unknown tag found! stop parsing."

Any idea what could cause this?

Just to add a note to my bug report: amarok has no problem accessing the ipod.

This bug was also reported upstream one year ago, but there where no further answers to that bug:

I found this thread while I had the same bug on my iPod. There's not a whole lot of info on this out there, so I figured I'd post the resolution here. Looking in the bugreport thread you linked, the maintainer wanted to see the iTunesDB, indicating he thought it was an actual tag issue.

I went into Amarok, deleted a couple of tracks with a leading apostrophe in the name ('Til Tuesday, note, that's an apostrophe, not a backtick) and now it works fine. Amarok, as you say, always worked perfectly.

Is this symptom still reproducible in 8.10 beta or later?
