Bug Description

I'm finding Pantheon Files quite unstable, both in 32bit and 64bit, although 64bit is a lot worse.

It's more prominent when two or more Pantheon windows are open. Usually the contents of the window just dissapear and I have to close all the windows down and re-launch Panthon Files.

My 64bit machine also has Nvidia Proprietary drivers installed (Geforce 9600 GT), thought I'd mention this as another user reported problems with Proprietary drivers too.

It is indeed a bug, and it is reproductible easily:

1. access a samba share with write permision
2. cut a folder (right click a folder - click cut in order to move it)
3. go in another folder and click paste, in that second the file manager will close instantly, no message no nothing.

I hope this will help the developers to find the problem.

Thanks for elementaryOS, it's great!

the cut - paste thing that crash the file manager it's happening if it's an overwrite/replace situation, reproductible every time.

I have the same problem, but it doesn't seem to appear only by cutting and pasting, but it's like...random. Sometimes it just crashes and I can not tell you why, or whether there is a special operation I did...

Happens 100% of the time to me when I have a samba share mounted

I confirm this happens. Also that that, when no over-writing, the view does not automatically refresh - changes only shown after manually refreshing the folder view. This is presumably linked to the fact that you cannot set a FileMonitor on a remote share. Files will have to detect when files are being moved around on a remote share using a different mechanism. This should not be too hard when it is Files doing the moving; if the changes are being made outside of Files it could be more problematic.
