Bug Description

Using hoary :

When I plug in my USB key (LEXAR MEDIA JUMPDRIVE), it's correctly mounted by
g-v-m, but only the window appears, no icon is created on the desktop. The mount
point doesn't appear in the Places menu either.
More annoying, when I umount the drive, the system completly hangs (need to use
sysrq keys to sync/reboot). I umount using the command 'umount /media/LEXAR\
MEDIA'. After the reboot, I find no trace of a problem in the logs. As a side
note, my shell (zsh) completes the umount command with /media/LEXAR\040MEDIA
which is what /etc/mtab contains, but mount doesn't accept it a a parameter.

I wonder if all that is related to the fact that the drive name "LEXAR MEDIA"
contains a space, or to it's "encoding" using \040...

I'll attach the output of lshal with the key plugged in, a dmesg output and a
mount output.

I just noticed that the system doesn't hang if I close the nautilus window
opened by g-v-m before umounting.

The same happens to me. I have external 3'5 hdd (via USB), and external
DVD-burner. my gnome-volume-manager version is 1.1.2-5ubuntu1. Symptoms are
exactly the same
