Bug Description

I've subscribed to the docky-core PPA for awhile now. Today an update was pushed out and my package was upgraded from "2.2.1~bzr1845-0ubuntu1~13.10~dockycore1" to "2.2.1~bzr1845-0ubuntu1~13.10~dockycore3". Even though the official version is identical as well as the revision number, it broke the weather the applet.

I have no idea what changed in this in this package update because there's no changelog and technically nothing should of changed in the build itself from my understanding. Since the repo only lists the latest package (2.2.1~bzr1845-0ubuntu1~13.10~dockycore3).

I noticed that if I force the 2.2.0-1 package from the official Ubuntu Repo, everything works fine.

Well the easy workaround is to just remove the PPA for docky-core and rely on the distro's repository to provide a stable release that's a bit older.

I have the same problem with the broken weather applet after the update. I'm running Xubuntu 12.04, and 2.2 doesn't exist in the repository -- only 2.1.4, where the weather doesn't work, either. Which is how I ended up using the docky-core ppa.

I can't install 2.2 from the tar because it's missing too many dependencies for my limited skills.

Does this mean I'll have to wait until I upgrade to 14.04?
