facebook account does not work

Hi guys!
i think you have a serious problem with integration of empathy and "online account" packege in ubuntu.
so, to be able to connect to my facebook account, i had to remove the "ubuntu online" accounts by running command:
"sudo apt-get purge gnome-control-center-signon"

so, solve the issue as fast as you can because empathy, as an IM client, it is very usefull to every user, especially that it is defalt.

Thanks for reporting this issue and help in making Ubuntu better. Are you still seeing this problem? Have you been able to try it with Ubuntu 14.04 to see if it is still present there?

hello!
back in my days of 13.10, after some reinstalls, i managed to connect to all my acconts, yahoo, gmail, facebook.
now, in 14.04, i have had problems with gmail, it tried to connect but after awile, it requires authorization.
in this moment, it seems that it work okay. but for how long?
now, as a general talking, my opinion is that empathy is not a reliable IM client. the problem seems to be not in empathy itself but in integration of empathy in ubuntu accounts.
this part of ubuntu, i mean ubuntu accounts and empathy must be investigated.
