Bug Description

Binary package hint: alsa-base

Hello,

It seems that the module name specified in /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base for at least cx88_alsa is not valid anymore, so we get a regression (this module is taking the index 0 ). I have fixed this on my computer by changing :

options snd-cx88_alsa index=-2

to

options cx88_alsa index=-2

The ranaming of the modules might have affected others so please check them too .

Best Regards

For information , in feisty the module is referred as cx88-alsa and not snd-cx88_alsa

alsa-base 1.0.14-1ubuntu1 already does this. From debian/rules:

        # neither snd-cx88-alsa nor snd-saa7134-alsa exist;
        # strip the leading snd-
        sed -e 's/snd-cx88-alsa/cx88-alsa/g;s/snd-saa7134-alsa/saa7134-alsa/g' -i debian/alsa-base/etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base

Even though I believe in you and in a fix has been done, This fix doesn't solve the issue . I have downloaded the Gutsy desktop CD of today and install it and the problem still occured.

Please check if the fix works well, and if it has been included in the LiveCD

I can confirm this.

Just have a look at /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base the old module name is still there...

I had to change this manually.

This fixes a sed expression error so that the driver is named correctly in /etc/modprobe.d.
