I can't find a mention of your reported "install/upgrade: ErrorMessage: subprocess new pre-removal script returned error exit status 100" in the attached logs.
Consequently, I'm not sure how this bug can make any progress.
As this is 12.04, which has now been out almost two years, it does seem likely that your error is likely to be due to local misconfiguration or corruption rather than a bug in Ubuntu.
