ubuntu 13.10 won't install as a dual boot with Windows 8.1

Bug Description

Most likely because of the UEFI protection. This seems to be a common problem with Ubuntu and my particular system (HP Pavilion g6-2235tx). Bummer :(

Your EFI system partition is corrupt. You will need to chkdsk it from Windows to repair it.
