Bug Description

Pipelight correctly installed for me and works fine on the following sites:
http://www.iis.net/media/experiencesmoothstreaming
http://bubblemark.com/silverlight2.html

However, at http://preview.optimum.net/laptop , the applet loads and says "Retrieving required information" on a black screen. Then it just goes blank. I have microsoft fonts installed and accepted the agreement ( https://answers.launchpad.net/pipelight/+faq/2441 )

Hi Daniel,

since I do not have access to this service I need some more information to address this problem. Please attach a log containing the wine debug messages. To create one, close all your browser windows and start your browser from a terminal in the following way:

firefox 2> pipelight-log.txt

You can replace firefox with google-chrome or chromium-browser if you want. Simply attach pipelight-log.txt after you reproduced the problem. Moreover it would be nice if you tell us which distribution you are using.

Hi,

there is one line in your log which indicates that this service tries to use a higher DRM level which does not work with Wine and Silverlight 5.1:

fixme:quartz:AMCertifiedOutputProtection_KeyExchange (0x5e4d7ac/0x5e4d5b8)->(0x66d510, 0x66d4ec, 0x66d4f8) stub

Can you try to use Silverlight 5.0 instead and check whether it works then? You can change to Silverlight 5.0 by executing:

sudo pipelight-plugin --disable silverlight --enable silverlight5.0

The last command is not completely correct, it should be:

sudo pipelight-plugin --disable silverlight5.0 --enable silverlight4

A notification pops up telling me that the version of silverlight is too old for the website.
