Bug Description
DDM in LMDE repository is horribly outdated, not tested well, and causing the issues for users. It needs to be either removed or updated (the latter may require a cooperation with Schoelje).

This bug affected me. Either DDM should be disabled or an alternative like sgfxi should be used instead. The update should be pushed out ASAP as it a very basic operation yet breaks the OS.
