Bug Description

Using Gnome 2.18.3 on Debian Lenny, the gnome-panel clock is misaligned on a vertical panel when both date and time are displayed. When the panel is not wide enough to display two lines of text, the time (which is the second half of the display) is raised off the baseline. For an example, see: http://www.jacob-head.com/1.png . Once the panel becomes wide enough to display two lines of text, the problem does not occur (http://www.jacob-head.com/2.png). The problem is particularly acute when the panel is narrow as the time is obscured (http://www.jacob-head.com/3.png). On a horizontal panel, there is no problem.

I'm afraid I can't remember the last version I used when it was not a problem (I am currently using a fresh install) but I am certain that it did not occur with 2.18.0 and probably did not with 2.18.1. I've successfully reproduced this error with default gnome settings.

You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue for you. Can you try with the latest Ubuntu release? Thanks in advance.
