Bug Description

General error dialog when trying to open or save ODT files.

Open any *.odt doc and you get a 'General Error' dialog box. If you Accept it the doc will appear.

Trying to save results in a similar dialog box.

This happens on new an old ODT files alike.

Phil Wyett, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better. As a potential WORKAROUND, if you uninstall individually, or in combination the following does it change anything:
libreoffice-gtk
libreoffice-gtk3

Re: #2. Removing the gtk package makes no difference and the error remains.

Note that this error does not occur when opening MS .doc files.

Phil Wyett, thank you for providing the requested information. So far, it's not reproducible for me with Xubuntu 14.04 amd64. Despite this, could you please comment to what extensions you have installed (ex. any ones downloaded from non-Ubuntu repository and added in)?

As well, could you please provide the results of the following executed at a terminal:
apt-show-versions -r libreoffice*

This is a vanilla install. Only the packages that came as part of the default Ubuntu Gnome install from ISO of 2013-12-31. No extensions have been installed or settings changes been made.

I have just booted todays (2014-01-01) Ubuntu live ISO image (64-bit) and it suffers from the same issue.

Phil Wyett, thank you for the requested information. Given what I have installed below, could you please bring it to package parity with mine one-by-one, in between completely closing all LO instances, and reopening the provided example file, and advise if still reproducible:

This bug is present even with packages matched both in Ubuntu and Ubuntu Gnome.
