Bug Description

Following on from: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1003297
My post: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1003297/comments/14
Request for info: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1003297/comments/15

My computer only work if I perform the follwing every time that I boot to Linux:

- boot into rescue mode
- drop to the terminal
- run "rmmod forcedeth"
- then "modprobe forcedeth msi=0 msix=0"
- resume a normal boot

I have found no other workaround and no way to successfully automate the process.

This is with Ubuntu and Mint (and other ubuntu derivatives).

Thanks.

OK Christopher, sorry for that. The bug is present in both Mint and Ubuntu, but I have wiped my Ubuntu partition. I shall reinstall Ubuntu soon and submit the bug. Thanks.

As stated elsewhere (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2020571&page=2), it seems there is a bug between forcedeth and AM3+ CPUs.

I have this conflict with Ubuntu 13.10 and it's solved by removing forcedeth and reloading with "modprobe forcedeth msi=0 msix=0".

We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to review all reported bugs in a timely manner.

I'm setting this bug to "Incomplete" as it's not seen any activity for some time. If this is still when using a maintained release of Ubuntu then please let us know otherwise this bug report can be left to expire in approximately 60 days time.
