Bug Description

When trying to load a file in the saucy version of DS9 (http://pastebin.ubuntu.com/6599685/), the program exits with the following stacktrace: http://pastebin.ubuntu.com/6599657/

The same procedure on raring succeeds.

Steps to reproduce:
- On Ubuntu 13.10 x86_64, install DS9 (sudo apt-get install saods9)
- Open a fits file with DS9

What happened:
The program exits with the pasted stacktrace.

What was expected to happen:
The image loads and DS9 continues normal operation.

Please let me know if I can provide further information.

Could you provide a sample FITS file that causes the crash?
