Bug Description

Installed clean 14.04 on toshiba ac100 netbook (tegra2 based).
After installation I have two icons of nm-applet in system tray.

This doesn't just happen in lxpanel, I have a similar issue in Unity. This is an upgrade from 13.10. See attached screenshot.

It's not a duplicate nm-applet icon, rather the next-gen indicator-network (currently only used on the phone). You can just remove that package to get rid of it.

Yes, none of those packages are in use on a traditional unity7 desktop. If you want the preview unity8 session, I'm afraid you'll have to deal with the double indicator, otherwise no network control under unity8 will be possible.

Well we can trivially make indicator-network not start on unity7 based
desktops, or !non-unity8 ones.
