Bug Description

Due to the introduction of bugs like this, we should look to adding a simple testcase to issue a simple command and get a result to ensure we don't have regressions like below :-)

I think I'll choose another core app for getting started with writing autopilot tests, as it's much easier when the application launching logic is already there.
