My configuration is
MSI GE60 2OE
Intel i7-4700MQ
Nvidia Optimus: Intel HD 4600 + Nvidia Geforce GTX 765m

Flags like nomodeset dont solve this problem. And i have no problemo with Arch.

I am trying but it doesnt work.
All time light on my USB drive immediately turns off, with no further output to the screen when i am trying anything.
The only thing that works is grub comandline. Other options even if add all this flags ends as i said.

Krzysztof Waszak, thank you for providing the requested information. Would any of the prior release (ex. Raring, Quantal, or Precise) allow you to boot via http://releases.ubuntu.com/ ?

I had a blackscreen issue after Grub boot menu when tried to install Ubuntu 13.10 x64 from LiveCD.

In my case the problem was solved by ENABLING Secure Boot.
I have successfully installed the above OS alongside with pre-installed Windows 8 and now I have dual-boot system.

Other settings:
Intel SpeedStep = DISABLED
Fast Boot = DISABLED
Boot Mode = UEFI

Screenshots with my working CMOS settings can be seen here: http://goo.gl/N7uCJh

Did you update BIOS? You can see on one of my screenshots BIOS and FW version numbers. Laptop MSI GE60-0ND. Ubuntu does have a valid x.509 certificate for their boot loader, but it's up to MSI to add it into their BIOS KEK.
