Bug Description

On upgrading from linux-image-3.11.0-13-generic to linux-image-3.11.0-14-generic, the touchpad on the new HP Chromebook 14 doesn't respond at all. Opening up the system settings for mouse and touchpad shows only settings for the mouse. Booting with 3.11.0-13 kernel restores touchpad and shows settings in the control panel.

Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream stable kernel? Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest v3.11 stable kernel[0].

If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'.

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag: 'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'.

If you are unable to test the mainline kernel, for example it will not boot, please add the tag: 'kernel-unable-to-test-upstream'.
Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as "Confirmed".

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for taking the time on this. I installed 3.11.10-031110-generic and it still has the problem.

Just noting that this still seems to be a problem on Trusty's 3.13 kernel.
