Bug Description

With GNOME 3.0 (april 2011), the GNOME Project decided to discontinue GConf.
It won't be maintained anymore: bugs and security holes will not be fixed.

Moving to Gsettings: https://wiki.gnome.org/GnomeGoals/GSettingsMigration
Porting Guide: http://developer.gnome.org/gio/stable/ch31.html

Actually many apps/packages still have gconf dependencies:

For now, LibreOffice developers have decided to not use gsettings, read https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=41678 for details. For Ubuntu there's already a request to drop the depends at bug 1235540.
