EFI error causes Ubuntu 13.10 GRUB installation to stop

A message appears that says something along the lines of "efi/boot error, this will stop the OS from booting".

There seems to have been an issue fetching some grub parts off http://nz.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/, which is why the grub installer failed. Can you try installing the system again and see if the process still fails at that point?

I'm posting from that system now. Maybe it was a connection issue?

Yeah, that seems likely given the error that caused the issue and that it didn't recur. I'm going to close this particular ticket, thanks for taking the time to report an issue.
