Bug Description

I have noticed that the system is running on single CPU core after each hibernation. There are 2 messages appeared in the syslog file about the problem:

Nov 29 16:56:56 nbook kernel: [ 4140.670554] CPU1: Not responding.
Nov 29 16:56:56 nbook kernel: [ 4140.670731] Error taking CPU1 up: -5

Both CPU cores work normally on regular boot. All cores work after sleep. But CPU1 goes offline after each hibernation. BTW, I cannot update BIOS on the laptop, because all the Lenovo updates are intended to run under Windows, which I don't have.

Please help.

Thank you.

Did this issue occur in a previous version of Ubuntu, or is this a new issue?

Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest v3.12 kernel[0].

If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'.

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag: 'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'.

If you are unable to test the mainline kernel, for example it will not boot, please add the tag: 'kernel-unable-to-test-upstream'.
Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as "Confirmed".

Thanks in advance.

The link you provided lists only 3.3.7 kernel for "Precise Pangolin", so I cannot test kernel 3.12 on my system.

The problem has gone after updating kernel to 3.2.0-57-generic #87-Ubuntu SMP and installing amd-catalyst-13.11-beta V9.4-linux-x86.x86_64.run from the AMD website.
