X is required to build irqbalance

Binary package hint: irqbalance

irqbalance uses gccmakedep to build, which is part of xorg.

Thus, to build irqbalance one must have xutils-dev. To build xutils-dev one must build xorg.

I sincerely hope I am not alone in seeing this as a poor choice of build tools, especially for a package as small as irqbalance.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue for you. Can you try with the latest Ubuntu release? Thanks in advance.

Jeff: I appreciate your efforts to keep the Ubuntu bug database free of stale bugs, but I think it would be best to investigate the bugs rather than touching them regardless. It's pretty easy to verify that xutils-dev is still a build depend of irqbalance in Karmic and that this bug is thus unchanged.
(I suspect Jeff will never see this because he's not subscribed to this bug, which I also think is a mistake when touching a bug)

I don't see any X package being installed at build time, and there's no reference to gccmakedep in the irqbalance source tree, so I assume this has been fixed at some point.
