Bug Description

The keyboard functions perfectly in the Grub menu (language selection and boot option selection). As soon as a boot option is selected, the numlock light goes out and the keyboard completely ceases to function.

Installation cannot be progressed because keyboard input it required from the debian-installer language selection screen and onwards.

The same keyboard/computer combination works perfectly with an Ubuntu desktop installation which is curently configure on the machine.

Can you try it on Ubuntu 13.04? It may be a regression of some kind.

What kind of keyboard is it? :)

Standard wired USB keyboard.

Tried 13.04 - worked without issue and I'd therefore consider this a regression.

What kind of server hardware are we talking about? If commodity, what is the motherboard?

Would it be possible to test some other hardware?
