Bug Description

Started testing Stellarium build under Mavericks and Qt5.2 beta and Cmake 2.8.12, initial trial built but crashes on loading. Software versions to use also confirmed by Alexander Wolf. Source was branch lp:stellarium

Also tried building previous successfully built source for 0.13 which I retained, but this fails at 35% with multiple errors under current software releases.

Going back to branch lp:stellarium, retrieved source again and re-built. App builds but still crashes on loading. Have retained the build log this time. Will scan for errors.

Confirming the bug.

This is *not* directly related with 10.9 (Mavericks), as the same symptoms occur with Mac OS X 10.8.5 (Mountain Lion), with the final Qt5.2.0 release.

+ Crash Stellarium on OS X 10.9 and 10.8.x

More info about this bug: the culprit revision seems to be the revision 6329.

On Mac OS X 10.8.5, with Qt5.2.0 final, rev 6328 and before compile and run successfully on Mac OS X 10.8.5 (yeah :-)). With rev 6329 and after, the build is successful, but Stellarium crashes after showing a full white screen.

On Mac OS X 10.9 (Mavericks), with Qt5.2.0 final, rev 6328 and before fails to compile at 35% just like indicated by Alexander. With current revision (rev 6403), the build is successful, and Stellarium crashes after showing a full white screen.

In both environment, when the crash occurs, the following line can be read in log.txt, which I assume announces the bug:

qrc:/qml/qml/main.qml:3:1: module "Qt.labs.shaders" is not installed

Just for temporary solution of this issue - please try update file src/data/qml/main.qml from this URL: http://astro.uni-altai.ru/~aw/stellarium/main.qml

Confirming that the workaround provided by Alexander works as a temporary solution.
