Kernel 3.12 needs recently released ndiswrapper 1.59 (or the current version needs patched) for kernel 3.12.x support:

Actually, disregard the last comment. ndiswrapper 1.59 is now in the Trusty repo. Please test it and confirm it fixes the issue.
