Bug Description

http://ares-developers.github.io/Ares-docs/bugfixes/type2/movingalphalights.html

It's not for the [Animation]►AlphaImage= . AlphaImage not moved together with the animation. When the animation ends, the AlphaImage still see. After some time, I get this error https://bugs.launchpad.net/ares/+bug/895558

From the documentation: "anything placeable on map", and then it lists the supported objects. Animations are not listed, therefore i don't think Ares devs cared about alpha lights on animations, so they were left the way they worked before. Making alpha lights on animations move with the anim (which, btw, excluding AE, are able to move only in some cases) is more a new feature than a bugfix.

Fixing that crash is another thing, though, and i guess it should be done at one point.

I found two problems with the alpha lights related to properly deleting them from memory. This is an important issue and will be fixed for the next releases.

Is the alpha light attached to the animation moving and just not removed, or doesn't it move at all? Not sure whether this is a bug or a documentation issue.

Not removed, and not moved.

The latest ft-tiberium branch contains a fix for the deallocation issue. Alpha lights on animations should behave as always, but they should not persist if the animation ends, and the crash that followed should be gone.

This is an unofficial build, not meant to be public yet. Maybe I can finish it after the Tiberium and Cloak branches, but because Animations are still restricted and exhibit some flaws, this isn't to be considered solved.

Now it's official. Animations aren't fully supported, but it will not crash any more. Updating positions may cause bleeding still; this has not been investigated yet.
