Bug Description

Binary package hint: compiz

Dragging windows between workspaces on the workspace switcher applet should work with compiz Cube like it does with Gnome's workspace switcher.
Reproduce:
1. Turn on desktop effects, workspaces on a cube
2. Try to drag a window from one workspace to another on the workspace switcher applet on the panel.
3. Observe that nothing happens

Thank you for your bug. What version of Ubuntu do you use? How many workspace and viewport have you configured?

I've got four workspaces. I'm not sure what you mean by viewports -- windows, displays?

What version of Ubuntu do you use? Compiz use viewports and not workspaces, what value do you have in gconf-editor /apps/compiz/general/screen0/options hsize, number_of_desktops, vsize?

Oh, sorry. Feisty, 4 viewports, hsize=1, vsize=1.

4 workspaces you mean? Does changing the hsize number make it work as you expect?

Argh, sorry, this is all wrong. This is my configuration:
4 workspaces/viewports/whatever
vsize=1
hsize=4
number_of_desktops=1

Changing number_of_desktops to 4 brings back the old "Gnome-look" to the workspace switcher. This brings the ability to move windows back to life, but also reinstates the "Gnome workspaces", if you can call them that. These will then work side-by-side with the compiz viewports in some strange way, independent of one another.
