Bug Description
Unfortunately I am not in position to send any more information. I've checked possible solutions (from uninstalling packages with hold status to any other possible solution (e.g. unity and video driver uninstall)) with no luck.
Any further suggestion would be highly appreciated.

I believe this is because of the cinnamon packages which you have installed from a PPA that provides a version number greater than the ones in the official Ubuntu repository, because of this the release upgrader is unable to calculate the upgrade. If you revert back to the official versions of the package using a tool like ppa-purge, you should be able to then upgrade.
