Bug Description

trying to update a vmware player install of Ubuntu 13.04 to 13.10 is giving an error. The only third party ppa's I have are
http://apt.postgresql.org/pub/repos/apt/ precise-pgdg main
and
http://ppa.launchpad.net/webupd8team/java/ubuntu raring main
which I have disabled.

Before we give any other suggestions, please purge those PPAs from your system. Sometimes just disabling the PPAs is not enough to be able to upgrade.
