Qlix hangs while attempting to detect the existing Galaxy Nexus

Bug Description

Qlix simply hangs while trying to detect the existing, connected, active and unlocked Galaxy Nexus running Android 4.0.3.

The command line from where Qlix have been started shows

$ qlix
Device 0 (VID=04e8 and PID=6860) is a Samsung Galaxy models (MTP).
Unable to open ~/.mtpz-data for reading, MTPZ disabled.Android device detected, assigning default bug flags

There is no ~/.mtpz-data file. Creating empty results the message
