Bug Description

When I start any Eclipse-based app (from Eclipse 3.x branch) I got a crash with message :

With Eclipse IDE the IDE starts but crashes randomly thereafter. With RCP apps the same happens.

I've attached a crash log, which may not be the exact one reported in this bug, but which contains the same info.

Does using the following to start SmartGit still result in a crash?

UBUNTU_MENUPROXY= ./smartgit.sh

There are some known issues with Eclipse based apps and Appmenu in 13.10. See bug #1241101 and eclipse-bugs #419729.

Hi,

Actually I do not have smartgit.sh at all... Could you attach it to the bug please ?

Disregard the SmartGit suggestion, I took a few minutes and read through the Java report. It seems pretty clear that the root cause beneath this issue and the one discussed in bug #1241101 are one and the same.
