Bug Description

The @ character used e.g. for all sites where the username is an email address, is not autotyped correct after upgrade to saucy (13.10).
The character is changed to "²".

Autotype works fine for other sites.

I am experiencing an almost identical problem with Ubuntu 14.04 LTS, 64 bit with preferred system language English (United States), regional format German and keyboard layout German.

When using the auto type feature instead of the @ character the ⅛ character is printed. When using the feature to copy the user name or password to the clipboard everything is fine.

KeepassX worked fine for me in 12.04 LTS. The problem occured after installation (not upgrade) of Ubuntu 14.04 LTS.

I found other people with the same problem and also proposed solutions but I would prefer an Ubuntu-intrinsic fix.

Proposal to run "setxkbmap de" after login:

Proposal to remove all keyboard layouts except one:

Btw, running "setxkbmap de" after login fixes the problem for that session but it would be very nice if it just worked without doing magic which might interfere with the system.
